Aluminium wood finish cladding for your project
Knotwood aluminium wood finish cladding is designed to look like real wood while benefitting from the durability and performance of powder coated aluminium. It is a high performance product for your construction project.
It is made of high-quality aluminium that has a realistic wood grain impression applied to the powder coating through sublimation technology with a textured finish. This indicates that it is resistant to exposure to the elements, including dampness, UV radiation, and high temperatures.
Our wood grain effect cladding is simple to install and can be cut to size on-site, making it a versatile product suitable for a wide range of applications. It is also lightweight, which makes installation simpler and quicker. Our cladding balances the natural aesthetic of wood with the strength and resilience of aluminium.
Knotwood collaborate with specifiers across a range of build projects by providing wood finish aluminium cladding that ensures the safety of the building exterior while also appealing to end clients. Satisfying the trend for design that emulates nature, the wood finish looks stunning without the concerns associated with real timber.
Many professionals, who, when are introduced to our range of aluminium cladding assume the wood grain designs are a sticker, veneer or a wrap. They are impressed to realise that the wood grain patterns are powder coated onto the aluminium, for extra durability and longevity.
We use a unique sublimation process to transfer the wood grain designs onto the powder coated surface of the boards. The resulting textured matt finish looks just like wood, while still providing all the above benefits of aluminium.
Knotwood are proud to be a manufacturer of our wood effect aluminium cladding, as well as our wider product range consisting of façade battens, garden rooms, and garage doors. How does fire rated aluminium cladding compare to traditional cladding materials?
Fire rated aluminium cladding such as Knotwood compares favourably against traditional cladding materials. Traditional cladding materials such as timber, render and vinyl don’t offer the same level of fire safety as fire rated aluminium cladding.
Our cladding is also non-combustible and meets international fire regulations. It is EN 13502-1 Class A fire rated, making it suitable for use as building cladding (fire rated to A2-s1-d0).
The All Systems EN 13501-1 Class A Fire Rated standard classifies cladding materials from A to F, with A being non-combustible and F being highly flammable.
Vinyl or uPVC cladding usually has a fire rating of C or D which is ‘limited contribution to fire’ or ‘medium contribution to fire’. PVC will melt and warp when exposed to fire and has been known in some cases to melt due to the reflection of the sun off windows. Untreated wood cladding has a fire rating of D.
Knotwood aluminium cladding is non-combustible, and its A2-s1 d0 rating makes it suitable for commercial developers as well as residential. UK regulations now specify that new buildings of 11 metres or taller must use materials that are either non-combustible or have limited combustibility.
